We wrote this in December 2021, after a hard couple of years for everyone. If one good thing came out of the pandemic, it’s that it brought people together to support, love and care for one another.
We are one of many customer serving businesses in Stanwell Moor that ensure we all have a wonderful place to live and share. In a world where businesses are closing all the time, we all survive on our friends, family, and neighbours’ kindness and loyalty.
Our little village is made a village by our shared services, whether it’s shopping at T5 Stores, washing our clothes at the laundrette, a takeaway from Polash Tandoori, or a drink and something to eat at The Anchor. They’re all within walking distance.
Personally, we’ve seen other similar villages, like ours, turn into nothing more than a collection of houses because of the social and service hubs that make it disappear one day without notice. We all found a home in Stanwell Moor because of the community surrounding us. Our house prices are hinged on that spirit of the village continuing.
The Anchor
We are the village local. We have been operating The Anchor since March 2019, and we’re here for a drink, food, events, entertainment and somewhere to meet your neighbours. Our opening hours are on the find us page, and what’s coming up is on what’s on.
We don’t do breakfast or delivery, but you can phone a takeaway order through to collect. We’re also a place to celebrate birthdays, christenings, baby showers and more: see private hire.
