A proper monthly pub quiz, 7pm to 9:30pm. Five rounds, a £25 bar voucher for the winners, and a bottle of house wine for whoever comes second from last.
The Anchor runs a monthly Wednesday pub quiz in Stanwell Moor, near Staines. Entry is £3 per player, teams are up to six, the quiz runs 7pm to 9:30pm, and the winners take a £25 bar voucher.

These are venue-wide ratings for The Anchor, not ratings of quiz night. The star score is our overall Google rating, and the hygiene score is for the pub’s kitchen.
How the night runs
- 6:30pm · tables set, soundtrack on, order food while you settle in.
- 7pm · first round. Four rounds of ten questions, general knowledge, no specialist subjects.
- 8:15pm · interactive quick-fire round, played on your phone.
- 8:30pm · comfort break, time to top up drinks.
- 9:30pm · final scores and prizes.
Teams up to six. House rule: phones away, except in the interactive round, or it’s a 5 point penalty. Friendly rather than serious, with the odd bit of adult humour.

We have not got a full team
Come anyway. Solo players and pairs get matched up with others on arrival, and teams are capped at six so nobody can field a small army.
Are the questions too hard?
General knowledge, no specialist rounds. Roughly half the questions are gettable for anyone, and the rest are the ones worth arguing over. Friendly rather than serious, with the odd bit of adult humour.
What time will we get home?
We aim to finish at 9:30pm. Tables are set from 6:30pm and the pub is open from 12pm, so come early and eat first if you want a full evening of it.
Can we eat first?
Yes, and the pub is open from 12pm. Kitchen times vary by date, so call 01753 682707 if you want to check that night’s times.
Will my team sit together?
Yes. Every team has its own table. Book your whole team in one booking, and that booking is your table.
Do we have to pay now?
No. It is £3 per player in cash on the night. The booking just holds your team’s table.

Wednesday Pub Quiz in Stanwell Moor
Once a month we turn The Anchor into a proper pub quiz for Stanwell Moor, Staines, Ashford and Bedfont. No specialist rounds, and no need for a full team. Tables are set from 6:30pm and the quiz starts at 7pm, finishing around 9:30pm. It's £3 per player, so build a team of up to six or arrive solo and we'll match you.
